Five days and twenty-five hundred miles later, we made it.
Saturday saw us coming in off the plains and prairie into the woodlands. A few
roadside images as we passed through Oklahoma and came into Arkansas.
Around 4:00, after about six hours and 470 miles, we crossed
the Mississippi River and are now happily ensconced at The Peabody, an iconic
downtown Memphis Hotel, just steps away from Beale Street, BB King’s club, and
all that. Dinner at the hotel’s fairly well known dining room and a late start
Sunday.
A few hotel shots, more tomorrow.

The Lobby is pretty spectacular |

The hotel has ducks, live and figural, as its motif. |

Note Nathan Detroit, standing to the right |

A pretty good piano player adds to the social scene that is the lobby |
