Montblancs!!

 

It’s not very often that I have the very popular Montblanc 146s and 149s up on the site. In the normal course of things they sell at pen shows, but I will not be at a show until August and I now have a handful of 146s and 149s available. So, act now!

 

First up, a pair of 149s:

 

The first one is an absolutely pristine pen, near mint in box with papers from 1986. It has a 14 Karat bi-color Fine nib. The only flaw is some markings inside the box and the elastic has perished. $650


The other pen is user grade from the 1980s. It has a 1mm dent to the barrel and an 18 Karat tri-color nib. $500

 

Next up, a trio of 146s:

 

MB146.1 This pen is in good restored condition with a 14 K monotone nib, a Broad stub with rather good flex. This would make a superb user. In 
Excellent condition. $350 without box, $375 with.

 

MB146.2 This pen is from the 1990s with an 18 Karat Broad bi-color nib. Excellent condition. $375 without box, $395 with.

 

MB146.3 This pen is from the early 1980s with a bi-color 14 Karat Medium nib. This pen has a brass filling mechanism. Excellent condition. $395 without box

 I'm not sure how long these are going to last, so order now

On Sunday we left Edinburgh, headed for Northumberland and (we thought) York. Now, if someone says England and tourism, your first thoughts do not turn to Newcastle Upon Tyne, which formerly was the county’s largest city, or for that matter to any place in Northumberland. But for many English folk we have talked to, this area is a great treat, as it has become for us. Jim Marshall first put us onto the area, marking out Alnwick, Holy Island and Bamborough on our maps. We took it from there and spent three days prowling the backroads and coming to love the area, enough so that we delayed our trip to York until after our return from Germany, in order to get a bit more time in that corner of England.
