Winter is Coming: Yellowstone IV
Monday, September 24, drove home the point. It is getting colder and wetter and we saw snow flurries that drifted across the roads. Still, we were able to achieve our prime objective, the Grand Prismatic Spring which goes beyond otherworldly. Sharon says that this attraction may be her favorite of what we’ve seen in the Park thus far. Despite the weather we covered close to five miles on foot and got to see several other thermal basins and geysers and had a lovely drive/walk along the Gibbon River and Falls.
We finished the day with dinner at the Old Faithful Inn and a rather challenging moonlight drive back to Headwaters Lodge where we are staying.
Pictures do not do the spring justice |
It is windy up there, one fellow tourist dubbed this The Grand Prismatic Hat, there were others |
