Key West, Friday the 13th Edition

The plan for Thursday, May 12 (the day before the 13th), was to go back down to Key West and to go out on the glass bottom boat. Unfortunately, it was not running this week, so we ended up on the Conch Train trolley tour. It was fine, but not what we planned. The driver, however, did point us toward El Siboney, an off-the-tourist-trail local Cuban restaurant. Excellent. Thank you, Bruce!

The colors!

A typical touristical scene

After dinner we headed back to the hotel (that 80 mile drive) figuring to break it up by stopping for the sunset, which we did.

And then Friday the 13th visited early. When we got back to the hotel we found a warm room without air conditioning, or any ventilation. Two visits from maintenance and by midnight (now the 13th) we were ensconsed in another room. Another room without adequate air conditioning. It was a long night.  In fairness, the folks at the recently opened Amara Cay Resort were more than fair in moving us again and compensating us for the trouble. Though I did have to ask.
