Mesa Verde-Up Close at Last

--> If, on Saturday, we were frustrated by not being able to climb into the pueblos, Sunday made up for it. After what was described as a “moderately  strenuous” ½ mile walk we ended up at the Spruce Tree House, where, under the close supervision of two park rangers visitors are allowed not only to view, but to climb into the ruins.

On approach Spruce Tree looks like the other ruins in the area.

Soon you start getting closer, note the ranger to the left

And then you are on top of it and in it!

And  in for a photographer's delight!

We spent the rest of the day in the overly informative archeology museum. They had some totally kick-ass pottery, however.
